I've seen a lot of coverage lately about a Liverpool born professional photographer, Tim Hetherington who sadly died recently in a conflict in Libya. His work as a war photographer took him to many conflicts around the world taking photos which tell a story about a world at war. Striking, compelling, eye catching, horrific and sad are some of the thoughts that run through my mind when I look at his work.
Like many of our soldiers, this guy put his life on the line and as a creative myself, I feel quite ashamed that I had never heard of him or his work before now.
His current website only displays a small amount of his work and I hope that some time soon an extensive catalogue of his photographic journey will be available for us all to admire and look back on.
For now though i'm going to settle with watching a film that he, along with fellow Film maker Sebastian Junger created. Restrepro - One Platoon, One Valley, One Year...
